St. Mary’s of the Assumption Parish in Lake Leelanau has been blessed to have fostered, nourished and promoted several young men and women to consider and enter the religious life and the priesthood. The spirit of the school and the parish nurtures the sacramental and religious atmosphere which helps our students to discern the call of God for their life. This year in June of 2016 we witnessed the ordination of Fr. Ben Rexroat an alumni of St. Mary’s who now serves our Diocese of Gaylord. We are also blessed to have Michael Linguar, another alumni as one of our seminarians who is studying for the Diocese of Gaylord at Mundelein Seminary in Chicago. We have previously witnessed many more of our alumni either become priests and deacons or to enter a religious order as a sister or a nun. We continue to foster and promote vocations among all of our students and encourage anyone considering the call to a religious life to contact their pastor for more information about this wonderful opportunity.
